In Boston, law schools have special expedited programs for getting a JD if you already have an MBA. When I arrived in Minnesota, however, I discovered that there were no such programs. I was able to obtain an MBA at the University of St. Thomas -- but no quicker than I would have been able to without a JD. I think the Twin Cities could benefit from an expedited MBA program for lawyers who want to get a graduate business degree after they get out of law school.
