Strib covers Social Security number controversy

The Strib has finally gotten around to reporting on the problems caused among immigrants by Hennepin County's requirement that applicants for marriage licenses provide Social Security numbers. (See "Bureaucratic tape entangles couple trying to tie the knot.")

Not to brag -- OK, OK, to brag a little -- readers of this blog found out on July 2 that Hennepin County stopped requiring Social Security numbers as the result of the lawsuit brought by the couple. (Click here for the July 2 post.)
